According to previous tenants, who stated they lived in the home and spoke directly and extensively with the mold inspector they had called to the property, there was significant and extensive mold throughout the house, including inside the walls and in other areas requiring remediation. They further stated that, based on those firsthand findings and conversations with the inspector, the mold had been present for quite some time and predated their tenancy. According to the tenants, the inspector pointed out mold throughout the home, and the tenants also observed mold firsthand themselves. They further stated that the mold conditions contributed to sleep disruption, breathing difficulties, and other respiratory issues, which ultimately led them to leave the home. During the many months they lived there, they state that the landlord chose not to remediate the mold and that no remediation was undertaken or completed while they were in the property, even after the tenants had spoken extensively with the mold inspector and raised these conditions. The landlord may have performed remediation after the tenants moved out, but they have no knowledge of whether any such work occurred. For that reason, any prospective purchaser should obtain a thorough mold inspection and have a qualified inspector examine inside the walls, crawl spaces, and HVAC ductwork, and otherwise independently confirm that the property is free of mold before purchasing.
